What is the best age to enroll my child in piano lessons?

The best age to start your child in piano lessons is anywhere from 5 to 7 years of age. But, of course, there’s no age limit on learning the piano!

Are there any requirements before enrolling my child in piano?

Students must know how to recognize letters and numbers. It is also an asset if they’re familiar with knowing their left hand from their right hand.

What kind of piano should I buy?

An acoustic piano is always recommended as it helps promote strength in the fingers and develop the necessary sensitivities of the instrument. A keyboard or digital piano is sufficient to start with but it should be full length (88 keys) and have weighted keys.

What style of piano do you teach?

I am a classically trained pianist so my preferred teaching style will be classical music. I move students onto the Royal Conservatory of Canada series once they get past the beginners stage.
